Pepi Valderrama‘s next question prompt:
What spread do you use the most? Why?
Actually, the three-card daily draw is the most common one, but that’s partly because I’m still learning (haven’t done the Grand Tableau yet) and because I’ve only done readings for myself so far. I have done some five-card lines and the 3X3 in my lessons, but I don’t use them regularly because they tend to cover a longer time frame. It’s just easier to stay in practice by pulling three cards in the morning to see what to look for for that day.
With the Lenormand, though, a group of at least two cards is crucial to any kind of effectiveness, and longer spreads actually give more information; you just have to take the time to put them all together. Phrase, sentence, paragraph, short story; two cards, three-to-five cards, 3X3, grand tableau. But single cards don’t make sense. You must have at least two.
I still have some trouble deciding whether to treat a three-card draw as a phrase (noun plus adjectives) or a sentence (subject-verb-object). Some cards seem to function better as adjectives and others as nouns, so I may have to stretch a bit. But the biggest challenge for me is to stay concrete. I’m used to Tarot, where one can get all woo-woo psycho-spiritual, and I’ll forget to get specific about both questions and card interpretations with the Lenormand. I’m slowly getting better as time goes by, but this oracle will take a long time to master and be fluid at. My take on the following draw (Fish-Moon-Key): It’s going to be a good day for making money at work, guaranteed. Nice!
