Welcome to Yule and the Winter Solstice! May the fires of your soul burn bright in the darkness and make of your desires another star in the winter sky. 🙂
I love the Wildwood Tarot for seasonal connections, especially the Winter Solstice, so I’ll be using that deck in a conscious way for this hop.
I’m going to focus more on forward for this idea, mainly because backward-looking feels just like the Ten of Bows, or maybe a combination of the Nine and Ten of Bows. We’re still (after two months) struggling to get the Veterans Affairs underwriters to calculate self-employment income correctly to buy a house (sigh!). Just defending and carrying the load until we get there.
We’ve done all we can to prove we are capable of home ownership again, so now is the time to let go of that past and focus on our wishes for the future. The best cards to represent those wishes, I think, are the Wildwood’s Pole Star and the Ten of Stones.
In this darkest time of the year, it is our guiding stars that become most visible. We especially need them when we are about to enter a forest of challenges. On the other side, we wish, we wish, to see home and be able to relax in our own space.
I love the way the Wildwood cards can be strung together like this to show a journey.
We wish, we wish to be able to use this new home base to start anew, to try out new projects, like growing our food, creating an art studio, booking face-to-face Tarot readings…
In the meantime, we will keep our wishes in our hearts and in our cards until the stars align.
Wishing Stars Spread
In the spirit of the theme here, I think I’ll repurpose my guiding star spread to reveal the direction of our wishes in the new year.
Lay out your cards in the pattern given in the image and contemplate the following to go with each location:
Wish 1 – Your long-term wish for your career or creative work
Wish 2 – Your darkest wish (something naughty, perhaps?)
Wish 3 – Your relationship wish for the upcoming year (see the two little stars together?)
Wish 4 – Your soul wish (what’s the brightest, most powerful wish you have for yourself?)
Wish 5 – Your ego wish (something you want just for pleasure)
Wish 6 – Your resting wish (some haven you’d like to get away from it all in)
I was actually surprised at the cool wishes that came to mind from the star picture. Have fun with the spread and a very Happy and wish-fulfilled New Year to you all.

May all your wishes come true! Here’s to a stellar 2018! 🙂

Thanks, Karen! Still working on that buying-a-new-home wish. The universe will definitely have an opportunity to make that one come true in 2018. 🙂 Happy wishes fulfilled to you, also!

Wow! I love that spread. I’ve been looking for a wish spread exactly like that with no luck. Thank you for sharing.

I’m empathizing with that deep felt need for homeownership, a home, a place of one’s own. I love the images you chose from the Wildwood to visualize your wish. Believe it will happen and the Universe will provide the how. Hopefully sooner rather than later! Best wishes!
