Welcome to your weekly Tarot forecast! The rain is back in southwestern Oregon. We really haven’t had enough this winter, but the sunshine has felt nice!
I’m using the Golden Tarot, by Kat Black this week. I love her medieval collage. I get a very traditional and grounded feel from this deck. Life was not a picnic by any means back in that day, and the need for faith in things unseen and unknowable (at the time) was key to survival and thriving. I think the Tarot still provides some insight into what may happen and gives us a heads-up, in this case, for the week.
Since there is no specific question or area of concern for these readings, my interpretation will be very general in nature, based on my sense of what the Tarot itself is addressing and the general energy potentials for the week.
We have been graced by Queen energy this week. Let’s see how that shapes up.
Let’s do a chronological look first, and then we’ll use some mirrored pairs to round out the message.
The Timeline View
We begin this week with a bit of a contrast: the Knight of Swords off killing a dragon (St. George, perhaps?), and the Hermit (looking a lot like St. Francis of Assisi), hanging out with wildlife in his solitude. So, a combination of action, and applying wisdom in discerning the best course. You have someone blow into your life wanting to solve all kinds of problems by looking at things only from a logical point of view. It may be up to your Hermit self to take a larger perspective on the situation and see a win-win.
At midweek, the Queens come into play. First, the Queen of Cups, who will be sympathetic to what you are doing and may advise using your intuition to feel out a solution. Not sure if she’s the best advisor in this case, though.
Moving toward the end of the week, a pretty big decision awaits you. The Lovers indicates a point where you will need to make a commitment to something and give it your whole self, or even partner with someone else to start a whole “new world” venture. Meanwhile, advice takes a more grounded turn with the appearance of the Queen of Coins, who may provide material support or practical advice on that commitment you are about to make.
The Mirrored Tarot Pairs
The focal point for this view of your cards is the sympathetic and insightful Queen of Cups. She’s going to give the whole week a sense of coming from the gut about things, although some of the other cards seem to be pointed in a more detached or practical direction.
Now let’s pair the outer cards up to see how they might inform your situation. You’ve got swift action (Knight of Swords) headed in one direction, and much more methodical and practical energy of a helping sort (Queen of Coins) looking in the opposite direction. I think there will be some serious inner debate about what sort of approach to take with the challenges you face this week. My money (ha!) is with the Queen of Coins.
The inner pair create power pillars around the Queen of Cups. Both Hermit and Lovers are Major Arcana cards, so we need to stand up and pay more attention to their messages. The Hermit faces away from the Lovers, and the Lovers are focused on the angel and each other in their own card. Meanwhile, the Queen of Cups seems to be looking to the Hermit for support. Maybe she doesn’t want to make that commitment (Cups can be very wishy-washy)?
I sense from the patterns here in this pairs section that the Queen of Cups energy is mostly a distraction at the center of a week when you need to make a serious commitment (Lovers) to your own wisdom journey (Hermit), and take the Queen of Coins’ practical approach over the “go out and slay ’em” method of the Knight.
